Ms. Amina Sadia
Amina Sadia is an environmental science researcher specializing in remote sensing, machine learning, and climate change modeling. As a member of the Board of Managing Directors and Founders of EARTHEN, a nonprofit environmental organization, she leads strategic initiatives that integrate Remote Sensing, GIS, and Environmental Data Science to advance sustainability and climate resilience.
She holds both BSc and MSc degrees in Environmental Science from the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. Her research focuses on leveraging advanced satellite data and GeoAI to address pressing environmental challenges, including neural network–based land use and land cover classification, forest mapping, and environmental monitoring.
Amina is particularly interested in the transformative role of GeoAI—geospatial artificial intelligence—in improving climate research through spatial pattern analysis and predictive modeling. She also emphasizes Explainable AI for transparency in climate-based machine learning. Through EARTHEN, Amina fosters collaborative research and innovation toward sustainable, data-driven environmental solutions.
