Dr. Nadait Gebremedhen is a medical doctor turned social entrepreneur working at the intersection of food systems, economic development and civic innovation. She is Founder and CEO of Hagush, a nonprofit social enterprise building digital infrastructure for resilient food systems. She created Toll, a diagnostic and process-design platform that measures the collective cost citizens incur in navigating state systems to access public services, and gives governments the tools to design simpler, more effective bureaucracy. She also created the Funding Footprint Calculator, which applies the same approach to philanthropy, helping funders evaluate and redesign their application, compliance and reporting processes so they are net positive for society. Dr. Gebremedhen co-chairs Shifting the Funding Paradigm, a Catalyst Now initiative producing research and frameworks to rethink how the social sector finances complex problem-solving at scale.
