During his time at UMSL, where he pursued his degree while working full-time at Hussmann Refrigeration's quality department, Peter discovered his deep-rooted interest in the world of agriculture.

Equipped with a business degree upon graduation, Peter embarked on a transformative journey as he transitioned into a business development role. It was here that he spearheaded the groundbreaking development of a revolutionary product line known as "Living Merchandisers." These innovative systems were specifically designed to enhance the longevity of potted herbs by providing optimal irrigation in produce departments.

Driven by his unwavering curiosity, Peter's enthusiasm led him to explore the realm of plant growth chambers, utilizing open-source hardware and software. As he shared his designs with a global community of developers and engineers, he quickly gained recognition as a trailblazer among the esteemed #nerdfarmers.

Inspired by the overwhelming interest and demand from school districts seeking to acquire their own kits, Peter co-founded MARSfarm in 2020 alongside Drew Thomas. This visionary enterprise aimed to empower educators by providing them with MARSfarm-manufactured equipment, enabling students to delve into the captivating world of climate and plant growth.

With remarkable success in its mission, MARSfarm has become an industry leader, with over 500 schools across the nation utilizing its cutting-edge equipment.
