Dr. Sarah Coppersmith

Sarah A. Coppersmith, PhD, serves higher education in teaching, research, and grant coordination, teaching graduate research methods, teacher education courses, world geography, and other geo-related topics. Having been a University of Missouri-St. Louis Inquiry Circles Fellow on global competency, she serves the College of Education Geospatial Design Lab, and also works as dissertation chair in Higher Education Leadership at Maryville University. Recent teaching includes Honors spatial citizenship geography via geospatial technology, with continuing research examining global competencies, student agency, linguistically/culturally responsive teaching, transformative learning and ambiguity tolerance, including new projects and data collection in international research on online learning and a doctoral cohort model.
